[Custom Object] lip-sync//dance: Cash Monet

[Custom Object] lip-sync//dance is a series of artworks created in collaboration between Ambrose Trataris and Lucy Black, playing with embodiment and disembodiment in the queer body. Operating as another iteration of the self, the avatar, and the persona, these posable dolls can exist in an infinite number of compositions and forms.

This work depicts Cash Monet, a performer, maker, and dry humor aficionado. Cash Monet’s style is kitschy, glitchy, and a little sticky, inspired by asian culture, video games, and nerd culture.
