No matter what I did, it wasn't enough... No matter how much I washed my hands, my feet, my mouth, and my ears, I couldn't rid myself of this filth, this foul accumulation. I tried chemical cleaners, I tried acids that scorched my skin and eyes, yet I could not remain any whiter, any cleaner.
I tried to create a foolish balance by stacking a few stools, I climbed atop them, but of course, as I fell backward, I remained suspended in mid-air. I couldn't have remained this stationary, this heavy, even if I had hung myself with iron chains. Even the air did not cleanse me; I was ready to do whatever else was necessary to be purified. Even the echo of the sound hitting the walls when I slammed into the ground did not cleanse me.
I flowed, I turned into liquid, I evolved into a dense organic matter. Yet, traces remained upon me. Traces that could not evolve into organs that would serve me.
