At dusk, where the boundaries of vision are a bit odd, we captured a group of red balloons moving through the forest. The long exposure shot erased the figure that carried them, although some traces are still visible. The red balloons act not only as a suggestive material and color, but also as a way of visualizing the material that is giving them their shape: our breaths.
For us it’s always about reconsidering the ways in which we see and imagine things, putting into action interplays of visibility and absence, while also thinking about our bodies inside of the landscapes we inhabit.
This is one of our entries for the #TezPhotoExp event. While we normally work with videoperformance and postproduction, our practice is definitively lens-based. Whenever we move to a place to execute ideas, we like experimenting with photography and different ways our tools see things.
