Leto was one of the most ancient goddesses and, as many claimed, was Zeus' favorite lover. Zeus was very much in love with Leto, who is considered the goddess of motherhood. He even had children with Zeus before he married Hera.
She gave birth to the twin gods Artemis and Apollo (from her union with Zeus). Despite the hardships he had to endure, his fame was constantly spreading. She had her name engraved in Greek mythology as a humble mother and a respected figure.
