Floral Fusion #14/99

This collaboration takes Nomadic Frame’s original photos and uses Steve’s Makerspace’s code in p5.js to turn the photos into flow fields.

Nomadic Frame: "Floral Fusion" is an exciting collaboration between Steve's Makerspace and myself. By combining my flower macro photography with Steve's use of fxParams technology, we have produced unique and beautiful generative art. We are thrilled to share this artwork with you, and hope it brings joy and inspiration.

Steve: This is my first collaboration, and my great challenge was how to add something interesting with code that would not take away from Nomadic Frame’s amazing nature photography, but would somehow enhance it. I hope I’ve done it justice.

You might want to start by locking everything from Zoom down, and then play with all of those after you update the other params. For the original photo color (almost), put “tint color” to white, “hue shift” to zero, and “color variance” to five. For “shape definition,” a lower amount means more defined. Horizontal and vertical focus applies when zoom is greater than 1. Vertical focus goes from top to bottom. “Add grain” option uses Dave Pagurek’s grain shader.

After opening, hit 2-5 for higher pixel density and “s” to save a png. Resizing the window reverts to pixel density 1.
