Cloudology: Langit Merayakan

Langit Merayakan / Indonesian words meaning "the sky is celebrating".

This image was taken on the north-west coast of Mauritius in the summer of 2015. This traditional fishing boat, called a pirogue, seems not to have a name which is very unusual. The fisherman are very proud of their boats and often give them meaningful names indicating something personal about their families. At this time, it was also the only pirogue anchored and I felt as if it had been abandoned.

But as the sun is setting, it seems to be welcoming the pirogue home, celebrating its return. So maybe it's not abandoned after all, but rather enjoying an early finish to a prosperous day.
