Touchsoundart Interactive: Between the Earth and the Sky: Nava

Coming from the descriptions of the world in the Slavic Native cosmology, Nava describes the underworld as well as a notion of a soul after death. In this cosmology, some believe in the existence of three layers: the real world (Yava), the underworld (Nava), and society (Prava). I want to contemplate the idea that in this cosmology, in striving to achieve unity within living and non-living places, the soul resides inside of the Earth. I would like to imagine the Earth and the Sky spirits living among us. This sculpture is asking us to imagine these beings alive among us, giving them form.
