Protective architecture: Imre

The war reveals the problems associated with the effectiveness of buildings and cities in securing themselves against aerial and artillery shelling. This is my attempt to design structures and articulate ideas for high-risk buildings during wartime.

This special work in the collection is inspired by the creations of Imre Makovecz. He shaped highly distinctive buildings – or ‘building beings’ as he called them – for the world he wanted us to inhabit, one that was antithetical to the materialism, communism, corporatism, consumerism and globalism that he saw as soul-destroying errors of our age.

This work is my contribution to #ArtForUkraine, 100% of proceeds from sales go towards a donation wallet helping wartime survivors and those standing up for freedom.
