How many masks is one capable of wearing to prevent the world from really seeing your true self? These masks that we wear to fit into society, to meet the expectations others have of us, slowly erode our sense of self as we melt into the sea of the collective. And as we grow older, and have children of our own, how often do we teach them these lessons too? To grow and cultivate their own masks, to only present their most perfect unflawed selves if they want to be considered lovable and loved? And if we're lucky, at the end of the day, we might have created a place that feels safe enough to take off all the masks we've burdened ourselves with. But, more often than not, we don't really question who we are. It's only until we are able to that we begin to learn how to undo the art of self destruction.
