Traces of Her
A portrait of my friend Fariba, conceived as a quiet tribute to her beauty.
Painted almost entirely in black and white, the portrait is interrupted by a few touches of colour. Several rectangular lines, stitched with white thread, cross the surface.
The work consists of multiple painted layers of the same portrait on chiffon, sewn together. Through this layering, the image becomes both a portrait and an exploration of repetition, material, and the ways an image can transform through the process of making.
Medium: Acrylic on chiffon Dimensions: Approx. 20 × 35 cm
