From Grassroots to Tie Loot explores the evolving dynamics of the crypto art space, particularly its (d)evolution from a grassroots movement into a venture capital-dominated landscape. What was once a decentralized dream has shifted into a centralized system, with infrastructure acquisitions and corporate rules replacing open protocols and the artist-driven ethos. VC-backed projects have, in some cases, cut off artists—particularly those in sanctioned regions—as swiftly as a server reboot. The phrase "I (V)C what you did there" critiques these not-so-subtle trends, as the space, now "trimmed and suited," continues to drift away from its decentralized origins.
