"Momentum I" is the first work in an ongoing series exploring the human body as gesture and monumental form.
This pose emerged through a process of reduction. Rather than emphasizing anatomy or facial expression, I gradually removed everything that distracted from the gesture until movement itself became the subject. The figure becomes less an individual portrait than a single sculptural mass in motion.
Although the form approaches abstraction, I am interested in preserving subtle markers of the present. These details are not decoration; they anchor an otherwise timeless figure in the world we inhabit today.
