In the ancient times, humans were faced with a difficult choice. They were torn between their faith in the God of Prophecy and their doubts about the ultimate sacrifice they were asked to make. Yet, some blindly followed the God's orders, hoping to win back the favor of the powerful Goddess of the Sun.
Little did they know, their blind faith in the God of Prophecy would lead them to the edge of their sanity. As the people began to follow the God, they were plagued by nightmares that felt all too real. The God of Nightmares would appear to them in their sleep, a terrifying creature with tentacles that crept into their minds through their ears, eyes, and nose. Many feared for their sanity or their very lives.
The villagers tried everything to ward off the God of Nightmares. They lit candles, burned incense, and prayed to their own gods, but nothing seemed to work. The nightmares only grew stronger, more vivid, and more terrifying. They were left with no choice but to confront the God of Nightmares in its own realm.
Armed with nothing but their courage and determination, a group of brave villagers journeyed to the edge of the world, where the God of Nightmares was said to reside. What they found there was beyond their wildest nightmares. The God of Nightmares was a towering monstrosity, with tentacles as thick as trees and eyes that glowed with an otherworldly light. Its voice was a chorus of screams, its breath a poisonous fog. Some say that the God of Prophecy was testing the humans, to see if they were truly committed to the cause. Others believe that the God of Nightmares was a rival deity, trying to undermine the power of the God of Prophecy. Still, some think that the God of Prophecy and the God of Nightmares were two sides of the same coin, representing the light and dark aspects of human nature.
Whatever the truth may be, the nightmares continued to haunt the humans. Some sought refuge in the safety of their homes, while others tried to confront the God of Nightmares in their dreams. But only a few could face the creature and emerge unscathed.
Could this be the reason why you have that sensation of something watching you sleep?
