Events, Mints, and More: All I Want for Christmas
Each year between 35k and 40k children are diagnosed with brain and spinal cord tumors worldwide. The majority of these children do not survive. DIPG accounts for approximately 10% of these tumors, and the 5-year survival rate is less than 1%. Most therapies cannot penetrate the blood-brain barrier, and there have been no advancements in treatment for over 40 years.
I dedicate this artwork to every hero who has lost their battle with cancer and those who continue to fight every day. It also recognizes and honors the parents and siblings as they smile through their grief and tears. Please hear their cries for help and know that funding for research is desperately needed. There will come a day when parents will not need to visit their child's grave on Christmas morning.
