CICADA AND THE PAPER BIRD
My power dwelt in the darkness of the earth warm, fertile, known. Among so many, blind and happy. But after centuries motionless and asleep I felt the sun calling and willingly I followed.
To the outside world I surfaced already at night and another being -very beautiful- welcomed me. It was so touching that my instinct suddenly went crazy and lost itself like a magnetized compass without a guide.
I embraced him in such haste in case he should escape jealous and selfish, in need of love I imprisoned him in my hands -my heart was bursting- and I squeezed him there so tight that this being-of paper and wind- broke.
Thus I mourned his death so deep was the pain that the tears soaked the traces of paper, and there arose a light -I don't know what it was- that merged with my body it entered through the open wound that loveless leaves us.
It was the happiest moment because suffering became beautiful there I remained as a flower, ephemeral in the wind and with a broken heart. I never got to see the sun but this light still inhabits me it feeds on me little by little. It runs through me, it makes me unique, it hurts me.
