Paintings: Exiled

This is one of my very first and best paintings. It's also my first non-figurative painting. I made most of it one night in my bedroom 20 years ago. This was a primal urge to let go of everything that was inside me, being totally indifferent to rules, formal or any other kind. I was a freshman at artschool at the time, pissed almost about everything. Then came information, knowledge, experience, things from my own personal pursuit which opened new doors and ways of seeing. There comes a time though when looking back, one strives for that initial kind of state and energy, freedom.

This is "Exiled", 80 X 90 cm - 2000.
