Halloween. There was a holiday in very distant times, in Scotland and Ireland. The inhabitants of these countries put pumpkins with their mouths and eyes cut out near the windows, and a burning candle was placed inside such a pumpkin. This was done to protect against evil spirits and dark forces. In the Middle Ages, nuns and priests used special rosaries made of pumpkin seeds. It was believed that such rosaries protect them from obscene acts and desires.
