MEMENTO MORI is GAWD’S 347th release, made exclusively for the January 2025 #OpenTez event. Created by hand using found public domain images and Procreate on iPad. 10% of sales and royalties from this image directly support the Teia Fountain at LMTGT to onboard new artists to the Tezos blockchain.

New York-based artist GAWD (b. 1977, USA) combines highbrow images of pop culture, fashion, luxury, and power with snarky lowbrow typography and hand drawn graffiti in a collision of styles self-described as ‘pop punk art.’ GAWD’s pop surrealist work seeks to speak up for the vulnerable, question authority, and poke fun at our collective, nihilistic modern existence. GAWD was the first artist to release new work simultaneously across digital platforms as multi-blockchain timed editions.
