Part 3: The Seer • • • I ran into the house and slammed the door behind me. Before I could catch my breath, I feel a tug on my leg. I turn around to find that in place of the door, stands a child. A demonic looking child with many eyes. He challenged me to a game of hide and seek, but said that we were playing for our souls and that if I wanted to keep mine, I’d better find a good place to hide. My heart sinks in my chest. I look around and see a set of stairs leading down to the basement. I scurry down the stairs and hide in an old rusty chemical drum. I sat there, quiet as a mouse for hours, maybe days. I never heard any noise but felt like that child was right behind me the whole time. I poke my head out of my hiding spot and notice a door leading outside. I don’t remember it being there when I first went to hide but I didn’t question it. I jumped out the barrel and ran outside. However, I was no longer at that lonely cabin in the forest, but in a village.
