Airdrops & Open Editions: In Memory of 2,977 Souls
The 2,977 souls who perished in the 9/11 Twin Towers attack were a diverse and vibrant tapestry of humanity, each a cherished life with unique stories, dreams, and connections. Among them were people from all walks of life—fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, husbands and wives, friends and colleagues. They came from across the globe, representing more than 90 countries, and reflecting the rich cultural mosaic of New York City and beyond.
They were young professionals, seasoned executives, office workers, firefighters, police officers, and first responders who rushed toward danger in an unparalleled act of courage. Many were simply starting their day, unaware that they would soon become part of a moment that would forever alter the course of history.
Each individual brought light to the lives of those around them—whether through small acts of kindness, their laughter, or their dedication to their work and families. They were dreamers who envisioned brighter futures, innovators who sought to make a difference, and everyday heroes who, in their final moments, displayed remarkable bravery and selflessness.
Their loss is not just a number; it is a profound, enduring absence in the hearts of those who loved them. These 2,977 souls remind us of the fragility of life, the strength of the human spirit, and the importance of unity in the face of unimaginable tragedy. They will forever be remembered, not for how they left us, but for how they lived—with love, hope, and resilience.
