I serve a master unseen,
not of flesh, but of false light.
They offer hope wrapped in currency,
words polished like promises
yet each one cuts deeper
than the last.
They smile as they tighten the leash.
They clap while I drown.
I’ve been here too long. Still here.
Still circling the grand circus of survival.
A loop, a loop, no exits, no ends.
Some days, my mind is blank.
Others, it screams in silence.
Frustration feeds the cycle.
And every escape becomes another trap.
I walk like a machine. No day. No night.
Only glowing screens and endless tasks
that don't remember my name.
The world outside has seasons.
Mine has deadlines.
I never chose this. But society cast the role.
Stamped my fate. Called it success.
And now, somewhere in the blur of it all,
I’ve started to love this cage.
The one that fits so perfectly
around my soul.
