Daydream: Sakura Sakura

I have been waiting for you forever, Sakura starts blossoming on me. Petals paint the sky. I'm here on the Sakura tree. . Inspired by a traditional Japanese folk song with the same title, this artwork presents a bride who has been waiting for her lover at the Sakura tree--so long that flowers start blossoming from her... . She's wearing elegant white Kimono, for a bride, with elaborate spring flowers and butterfly pattern. The cloth is loose, and the white fabric is stained, because of the love obsession she couldn't let it go. She's playing the shamisen, a Javanese string instrument. She is daydreaming, as her spirit is wondering between this reality and the world of dead, waiting her lover will show up eventually, in her daydream. . I designed and hand-drawn all kimono patterns and flowers. Hope you enjoy her song.
