PierPressure: Under Pier Pressure

This iconic spot, beneath the 100 year old Manhattan Beach Pier is one of my favorites places to set up and wait for conditions to change.

The tide, the clouds, the light...there are so many variables which make this spot special. But the feeling of solitude from below is one of my favorite parts of shooting here. The end of the pier has always reminded me of a Pause symbol and a reminder...stop. breathe. relax. take it in...give into Pier Pressure.
