Catering Pak (CryptoMeme #002): Beanie’s War Chest, 2022 (CryptoMeme #010)

Beanie is a well-known influencer, investor and collector in the Crypto and NFT collectables world. Although he currently has around 185.000 followers hanging on his every word, his statements on various topics are not always well received by a number of others in the space and he has said and done a number of quite dubious and frankly inexplicable things.

In mid Jan 2022 Crypto investigators/reporters ‘NFT Ethics’ broke a story on Beanie, claiming they had unearthed his real identity as Charles Moscoe and alleging a 20+ year history of horrendous scam activity:

At the same time an article was published by Crypto investigators/reporters ‘Probably Shady’ to Medium titled ‘How Beanie aka Charles Moscoe siphoned $40M and made $16M in unrealized gain.’
It has since been removed; unsurprisingly NFT Ethics outline Beanie’s ferocious defense of any critique of his ‘name’ and reputation, his habitual coordination to have information surreptitiously scrubbed from the web is his modus operandi. However you can still read the thread here:

Beanie took lengthy absence in the aftermath declaring he would address each of the dozens of allegations against him. Unsurprisingly upon his return he broke this commitment and tried to move on as if nothing had happened; even going as far as utilizing reverse psychology to shift the narrative to the complete opposite and away from his own alleged actions; the chronic narcissist’s 101.

In the age of the all-powerful influencer and ‘cancellation’ it seems there is almost nothing one can say or do to be banished permanently. To wit, Beanie’s audience has increased by 20,000 followers since the scandal broke proving that people people actually aspire to this sort of behaviour; “I want to be that.” If you’ve ever wondered about the mysterious public obsession with vapid and exploitative celebrities like the Kardashians, this goes quite some way to explain it.

At the time I made this meme, fundraising relief for the Ukraine War was going into full swing and I considered “What would Beanie do?” He would make it all about him of course.
