In 'FingerPaint & Ashes' there's a journey through color & texture by using a simplistic palette made up of mostly blues & reds by altering textures & brushes to create depth with a single yellow line meandering aimlessly down the middle of the piece. The original Genesis piece 'Altered St8' is an exploration into color & texture following the story of a semi-self-portrait, created from collaged layers, broad strokes and different textures. The animation is a linear suggestion showing two opposing colors fighting for significance.
What's left after we finish with our art, a project, a piece? Ashes ... smoke, nothing? When our attention has moved on to the next collection can we still look back & find the same appreciation or is this just the leftovers?
This piece is an edited & reworked section from an earlier rendition of my SR Genesis. Rather than scrap the entire version, I took bits & pieces & collaged together a smaller animated piece -- the work is now a limited edition created for Limited Edition created specifically for: @jessebryan @marto_gm @anonshiller @Lobes604 @heyALdoteth.
