Description
This large charcoal drawing by Leo Crane is one of four concept artworks for L’amour rebelle, the first-ever live opera NFT. Here, the figure of Carmen crouches amid discarded feathers. The crack behind represents the breaking of an eggshell, the moment when the relationship between the body and sexuality is reborn.
L'amour rebelle explores sexuality and conflict by reimagining Georges Bizet’s classic opera Carmen. It premiered with a live performance and animated projections in Los Angeles on 29 March 2022.
