Loom: 365: Resilience in Awareness

Realizing that we are not alone in the face of adversity can be a turning point in our lives. There have been moments when I felt as though I were the only person experiencing certain kinds of pain. Over time, I realized that thousands of people were carrying struggles of their own, often unseen. That realization changed the way I understood pain. I learned that while our experiences are personal, pain is something we share as human beings. We may walk different paths, but in many ways, we are weathering the same storm. I also learned that holding onto pain does not help us move forward. Sharing what we carry, listening to others, and allowing ourselves to learn from our experiences can create a sense of connection and make it easier to let go. Inspired by this understanding, I created “365 Buttons.” Each button represents a pain we have carried and held onto along the way. At the same time, each one is a reminder that someone else has walked a similar path. Together, they form a connection between our individual experiences and the things we quietly share. Perhaps we are never truly alone in what we carry. Sometimes, we simply need to recognize that others are carrying something similar.
