storia infinita: between light and shadow

“Between Light and Shadow” She stands in the doorway, where the light begins to fade. The house breathes quietly around her — the scent of wood, dust, and something that once felt like summer.

Outside, children are laughing, and for a moment she thinks one of those voices could be her own, from a time when everything was easy.

She leans against the wall, as if to remind herself she’s still here, and wonders if, beyond that door, there isn’t darkness waiting, but a small piece of what she once lost.
