This is the most extreme thing I have ever experienced while traveling, the most extreme project, and probably the most disgusting video I have ever published. I was wading through human excrement and misery in my boots in a brutal rain. Several monitor lizards were eating scraps right near me, and as I slogged through the mud, the indescribable stench from every step was overwhelming.
People often ask me why I'm doing it. Artists usually sit in clean studios and create something to exhibit in pristine galleries, right?
No. The best place for creating and exhibiting this artwork was in the middle of this misery.
It's giving me balance. That's why I do it.
