Site Specific: Little Thinker

Little Thinker - tribute to Auguste Rodin, social specific installation, 160x80x60cm, plastic, slum Kampung Wak Wak, Borneo, Malaysia 2022

Amidst the stench of human misery and futility decaying under the equatorial sun, a monument of a little thinker stands out in the village square. He is the long-awaited savior with a red band across his shoulder, who may find a cure for the spreading epidemic and wipe it out from the human mind. Perhaps, he is merely an embodiment of the expectations of future generations who will surely solve our problems better than we ourselves, because it's more convenient. Or maybe, too great hopes are placed in his contemplation, while he only thinks about football.

After all, he is still a child.
