For some, existing in this country can feel like navigating a minefield. Every day, our words and actions are under scrutiny by everyone around us. Careful to not seem too aggressive, that could be dangerous. Don't come off as too kind, that could be seen as weakness. Fear is never an option. We must learn to play chess; to be patient, strategic, and aware at all times. Life is never a straight line and it is never simple. We can't play this like checkers. This is not a game.
