21/05/21 - Caraz, Paron Ravine - 3,854 M.A.S.L
I remember this particular day, I was leaving the Paron Ravine and it was raining, the golden hour had just started and this amazing rainbow appeared, I immediately commanded the driver to stop so I could capture this Phenomenon which radiated an intense yellow Hue. The perfect ending for a long workday.
May is the time of the year where most rainbows can be spotted due to the change of seasons from rainy to dry.
According to the Incas, the Rainbows Axis made the governing person the chief of the community, endowing supernatural power. The Rainbow was a protective divinity of the Incas.
A rainbow is caused by sunlight and atmospheric conditions. Light enters a water droplet, slowing down and bending as it goes from air to denser water. The light reflects off the inside of the droplet, separating into it´s component wavelengths or colors.
