FRIENDS WITH SANDWICHES is a celebration of the flavors and diverse cultures of Philadelphia as encapsulated by the umami sandwich.
We’re getting ten FWB members and friends together to sample the offerings of five different iconic Philadelphia sandwich spots. We’ll finalize the menu closer to the event, but potential options include Chicken Maroosh, Puerto Rican pork, Southern BBQ, Vietnamese Bánh Mì, cheese steaks, and Italian cold cuts.
We’ll feast during a protracted hang at FDR park in South Philly while exploring some of the experiences that this 348-acre community green space has to offer, such as a Southeast Asian market, an iconic skate park that dates back to the 90s, and a rewilded former golf course that’s now home to turtles, community gardens, and dozens of bird species.
