Upside Down Yoga: Sirsasana - Pedra da Gávea

Sirsasana: The Yogic Headstand

In Sanskrit: Devanagari: शीर्षासन IAST: śīrṣāsana

Sirsa: Head
Asana: Pose

This asana is a tonic for people whose brain gets tired quickly. It ensures adequate blood supply to the pituitary and pineal glands. Our growth, health and vitality depend on the proper functioning of these two glands.

Regular practice of Sirsasana makes healthy and pure blood circulate through the brain cells. This rejuvenates them so that reasoning power is increased and thinking becomes clearer.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
