An homage to Brancusi's A Muse — a form suspended between the archaic and the timeless, between stone and thought.
Brancusi's sculpted head and the gaze of a living woman occupy the same space, neither fully merging nor fully apart. Hands cover the mouth while the eyes hold steady, watching through layers of time and matter. A strip of nature morte cuts across the composition, its painted petals dissolving into digital noise. Pink geometric lines traverse the image like signals — the quiet hum of technology woven into flesh and marble alike.
The title holds a gentle provocation: A_Muse_ment — where the muse becomes a source of wonder, of play, of creative unrest. Combining AI processes with manual intervention, the work asks what it means to be inspired across centuries.
Exhibited in HOMAGE Brancusi (2026), Teatrul Național Marin Sorescu, Craiova, Romania.
