"Guiding Light"
In the stillness of the night
I find myself awake
Thinking of the blessings in my life
And the dreams that I must chaseI am grateful for the love I have
And the joy that fills my days
But still, I cannot help but want
For more and better things to come my wayFor even as I am content
I am also driven to pursue
The dreams that burn inside of me
And the goals that I must doIt is a tension that I feel
Between the life I have and the one I seek
Between the happiness I have found
And the unknown that lies ahead of meBut I will hold on to this tension
And use it as my guiding light
For it is this tension that will drive me
Towards the life that is truly mineSo let me be content with what I have
And grateful for the blessings in my life
But also let me pursue my dreams
With passion, courage, and strifeFor in the end, it is this balance
Between contentment and ambition
That will lead me to the life I desire
And the happiness that is my true condition
"Guiding Light" explores the tension between being content with what we have and striving for more and suggests that this tension can serve as a guiding light as we pursue our dreams and goals. This ties into the concept of personal growth and self-discovery in the sense that these experiences often require a balance between contentment and ambition. By finding this balance and using it as a guiding light, we can move forward on our journey of self-discovery with purpose and determination.
