Every machine has a quiet inner life. Millennium Blue has its hard drive filled with daily notes and photographs of nature, and here, on the edge between wakefulness and sleep, it’s all mixed together, fragments of its own machine logic bleeding into soft melancholia of poetry and photography. Traveling through the years, page after page, picture after picture, a machine dream, a reflection of everything that was stored in computer memory, now mixed in a bizarre kaleidoscope by its sleepy mind. Visual images flicker and blend with parts of diary entries:
“I feel hazy and blue, blue, always blue. I sleep through half of the day but I feel like I’m never truly awake. Sleepwalking through life.”
“Bonfire in the backyard tonight, my hair smells of smoke. The moon was huge and bright, like a giant lamp. Long black shadows.”
“I don’t think I ever wanted to be or know anything really”
