Now, if I told you this was my first time witnessing the great wildebeest Migration in Maasai Mara would you believe me? Yes, this may be my backyard. I have been to the Mara a couple of times but never planned for the migration simply because it's usually packed with people. More chaos upon chaos. Now come 2020, things changed. The world stood still. With only 5 or so cars in the park, this was a gift from the universe.
Animal behaviour can be quite erratic. But that's the beauty of nature. Day 1 no action. Day 2, same thing. This is a test of patience. Fast forward to day 4, There we are at the river bank. Radio chatter that there's some wildebeests crossing on the other end of Maasai Mara. We can dash but we might get there and find the action is over. We take the gamble and wait on this herd.
After hours of patiently waiting, the first wildebeest takes the first jump and one by one the rest start to follow.
WHAT A WONDER.
