Rewind: Remember Us XIV (Henry Ossawa Tanner)

Remember Us XIV  honors one of the first African American painters to gain international recognition for his striking paintings often capturing classical tales. Racism stood in the way of Tanner’s ascension but it could not stop his rise. As an international painter, who exhibited all over the world, Tanner highlighted to people in regions outside of America his talent and open the doors for many people of color.
