The Many Faced Man, Venice.
Take a few steps away from the hustle and bustle of Venice's streets and you may be surprised by what you find...
My chance encounter with this gentleman was the unexpected result of me getting lost exploring the labyrinth of Venice in May 2022, and to this day remains one of my fondest photography memories.
Venice features a maze of tightly packed streets and is filled to the brim with a myriad of merchants dealing in masks, this shop stood out because I saw the man working his craft, he has hand crafted every one of these magnificent masks in his shop.
The masks are part of the Venetian tradition. The masks are the symbol of freedom and transgression.
