Hollywood Ending
Experimental love song and single-channel film, now minted as NFT (2024)
Duration 06:44 mins As much as it appears to be an audio track only (at times) it delivers a n BIG reversed Hollywood Ending because tragedies have this certain charisma. These were the only full takes. I improvised the melodies on the go and had to sing a cappella from the half-way through 'til the end (of the first take) as originally the backing track was half of what was needed... Got this idea to harmonize the verses with quiet chorus backings. Referring to Lana Del Rey's (perfect) "Margaret", Star Wars and Polanski's film, thematics in ”Crow” as well as Marianne Faithfull's "Broken English" album it is a combination of things that hurt as well as a goodbye song. It is about a relationship where both know they have to move on and only one is willing to. I am beginning to understand that I am not the girl to drive through Paris in a convertible (again) because I don’t have a drivers license.
lyrics:
(If she makes you happy) (Thank you, Kix For the kicks And these lyrics)
This is a story about something so broken it was worth it Margaret didn’t know Before Lana told her She just knew something was wrong On the rooftop like Lucy Jordan She gave away and escorted herself To the white car It took her into church Of Notre-Dame To meet face to face in true love
When the song got out The PR did their job well The answer was no - But it hurt like the diamond under pressure A ring on my finger A ring in yours
(If she makes you happy) (Thank you, Kix For the kicks And these lyrics)
I am singing solo Running these hills like Margaret her head spinning In a fairytale How can you be sure - Something that never happened How can you be sure It never happened
When the song got out The PR did their job well The answer was no - But it hurt like the diamond under pressure A ring on my finger A ring in yours
(If she makes you happy) (Thank you, Kix For the lyrics I need a fucking fix)
Afterglow alone Like in Strauss’s Salome I was longing to meet you all the way in my innocence, in my whites in these little lies Because Hollywood ending Found Margaret And I am waltzing to sacrifice myself in Sunday service For the bride in my Bitter Moon
Have a sweet honeymoon
