In October of 2023, and in a matter of hours, hurricane Otis swept through the coasts of Acapulco and Coyuca de Benitez in the state of Guerrero, leaving in its wake a trail of death and missing people.

The devastation came to be, in great part, due to the government's incompetence to correctly predict weather patterns, which hindered their ability to enact preventative measures in a timely manner.

The city of Acapulco, a tropical paradise currently in the throes of a fight against narco-violence, human trafficking and the might of nature, is at its core a place of celebration, a place where you can enjoy the most beautiful sunsets the South of México has to offer -- Acapulco is a tropical paradise that longs to be found again.

This work is dedicated to the girls and women of that beautiful coastal city:

the ones who are still there,

the ones who are already gone,

the ones that were taken from us and the ones yet to join us.

This is the second collaboration of a collective of mexican women with varied artistic talents and life stories, who were fortunate enough to find eachother in web3 and to be able to create a space where they can listen to eachother and feel safe to be constantly reborn.

Special thanks to Andreita, our 4 years old artist
