Selfie Class

Harman's latest digital painting, 'Selfie Class,' masterfully employs AI to craft a vivid tableau of opulence and excess, while simultaneously delving into the existential depths of our contemporary epoch. Set within the confines of a luxury private jet, the composition captures a moment frozen in time: hedge funders and venture capitalists, emblematic of modern-day wealth, revel in their affluence. Yet, this space, while symbolizing the pinnacle of material success, becomes a paradoxical realm of confinement and fragmentation. Glitched segments and blurred faces hint at the imperfections and disruptions lurking beneath the surface of polished wealth, evoking the loss of individual identity amidst the homogenizing force of excessive affluence. A particularly striking figure, with an exaggerated grin revealing oversized teeth, takes center stage as he snaps a selfie, encapsulating the group's hedonistic celebration and embodying the absurdity of modern existence. Despite their wealth, there's an ironic undertone to the title 'Selfie Class,' as these figures, amidst the flurry of floating currency notes, the languid smoke of a cigar, and the seductive shimmer of crystal decanters, display a conspicuous absence of true class. Harman's piece is not just a reflection of contemporary extravagance but also a poignant critique on the unchecked greed that often accompanies it, and a mirror reflecting the fragmented, disjointed essence of our times."
