In the artwork, a commanding figure atop a white horse, clutching a white flag, emerges as a potent symbol resonating with various meanings. The image radiates hope, leadership, and a fervent call for change and within this tableau, the white flag assumes significance, embodying notions of peace and a readiness to engage in negotiations. The accompanying white horse, a traditional emblem of purity and nobility, amplifies the noble aspirations contained within the scene.
A blend of historical themes and modern technology is introduced through the infusion of colorful pixels in the figure's eyes. This digital element symbolizes a visionary and positive outlook for the future, weaving together the legacies of the past with the transformative influence of the digital age.
The strategic use of colors—white, red, and blue—forges a powerful connection to the ideals of the French Revolution. White signifies purity, red embodies valor and bravery, and blue represents vigilance, perseverance, and justice. These color choices not only add aesthetic depth but also reinforce the historical and national context, grounding the piece in a rich tapestry of symbolic significance.
The title, "LIBERTÉ, EGALITÉ, FRATERNITÉ, NFTÉ," cleverly marries the traditional French revolutionary motto with a modern twist, incorporating "NFTÉ" to acknowledge the impact of contemporary digital art movements, notably NFTs. This choice underlines the artwork's relevance in the current cultural landscape and its exploration of the intersection between historical revolutions and the digital era.
Pixels within the composition serve as a commentary on the evolution of ideals and revolutions in the digital age and prompt reflection on how concepts are spread in an era dominated by digital information.
References to influential artworks, such as „DEGEN BEFORE CRYPTO GOD“ by @kingxerox5 (2023), „The French Revolution“ by Alan Woods (1989) and „Napoleon Crossing the Alps“ by Jacques-Louis David (1801) further enrich the narrative by anchoring the work in historical and artistic traditions and draw connections between past revolutions and the contemporary socio-cultural landscape.
A powerful message of change, peace, or a new direction unfolds, whereas change is not only rooted in historical contexts, but also deeply influenced by the transformative forces of the modern world.
The collection title „While tmrw never ends" serves as an integral thread in the fabric of the series and acts as a powerful catalyst, reinforcing the collection's unwavering dedication to sparking the flame within each viewer.
