Subject CBS17 is a subspecies of CBS04 branching off slightly and evolving on land in a mountainous cave system, unlike its watery cousin. The creature lives on an ancient planet that once was in the furthest and darkest part of its solar system until it got caught in an enormous million-year asteroid shower. The strikes were so ferocious they moved the planet into its sun's goldilocks zone and deposited large amounts of water onto the surface, creating conditions for life to emerge. CBS17 is one of the many life forms that evolved, but unlike its water-living cousins CBS04, it lives in caves on dry land. Interestingly the creature has formed a symbiotic relationship with a type of glowing mushroom. The mushroom produces photosynthesis creating light by pulsing energy, just enough for each other to grow. In addition, CBS14 sucks on the mushroom for food and has a strange funeral ritual where it brings its dead to provide the nutrients the mushrooms need to grow.
