kindred spirit // twin flame

The inspiration for this piece is my beautiful, caring, one of a kind girlfriend and the bond we share. Before I met her I truly felt I would never find a person to be my counterpart. I felt unlovable, and just different than the vast majority of people I have met. So many times, I masked my true self to everyone because I was fearful people would leave and never really accept me for who I am. I was super fortunate to have had a few very good friends that really got me out of my shell. However, every relationship I got into (which wasn't many) never lasted long and just left me feeling less confident and more anxious. That is until I met Ashley. In all my life I have never have found a more unique and perfectly imperfect person. I was full of fear, but for once I showed my true colors to someone without having to worry about how they would receive it, and she accepted me. Genuinely. Despite my years of skepticism, and anxiety, every bit of it melted away once I just let go. I never thought I would ever get so close to another human being. We have shared so many emotions, moments, tears, and time together and I'll never let it go. I truly feel I have found my kindred spirit, my twin flame.

I know I am not alone in the way I felt before. If you feel this way, please know you aren't unlovable. Everyone deserves to be loved, and I promise there is a kind soul out there looking for the same thing you are. Always keep an open mind, do not be afraid to be vulnerable to the right people, and trust your gut. Most importantly do not be afraid to show your true colors. BE YOU
