"Merkle watched from a distance as the Logger swung his axe at the first tree. She had been practicing a new magic — one that could save her tree friends — and it was time to see if it would work. She managed to send her magic and a message to the tree,
just before the last swing of the axe.
“Don’t worry. You will be alright,” she told it as it fell.
Her magic had traveled through the roots to its trunk and branches just in time. It hit the ground,
but something incredible was happening within.
The tree was becoming a Woodie!"
