"Dossier” is the French word for folder. Here, Al Lamki is using symbols, a universal mountain and a manmade fence that both facilitates or limits access to the natural world. In line with the cause to save the Arabian leopard, the artist highlights the importance of human and nature shaping each other. The fence is a limit but also a form of protective barrier. Historically, the Arabian leopard was free and lived among different species until it was close to distinct. Now, with dedicated human efforts to breeding new generations of leopards and keeping them in protected areas, they can be safe until they are integrated again in wildlife. With this series of paintings, the artist is experimenting with natural pigments on tent fabric.
