The Marten and Oopjen Portraits: Portrait of Oopjen Coppit, 1634 #37

Twenty-three, from one of Amsterdam's oldest families, in black silk and a lace collar that took months to make. Rembrandt was twenty-eight and newly famous when he painted her, and he never made another pair like this. She hangs on the right, turned slightly toward her husband — the two canvases only resolve when they're side by side. An airdrop for holders of Portrait of Marten Soolmans, 1634.
