Remoras attach themselves to the shark’s body using a special suction disc on top of their heads. They feed on scraps of the shark’s meals or eat parasites and dead skin, which actually helps keep the shark clean. This relationship is a form of commensalism — the remora benefits, while the shark isn’t harmed (and may even get a little cleaning bonus).
